Tier points and comp points accumulate very slowly on the circular bank of six 100% payback machines. Playing the 5c 10-coin games, it could take 24 hours to earn the 20 tier points needed for the free lunch buffet for new sign-ups.

Report from an Atlantis visitor: Atlantis is now watching VP players closely and if they think you are a "skilled player" they will not send you any offers.
Aug, 2012
My mailed offers have decreased from $300 a month to just $50.
In addition - the earned comp rate on the machines I play have been greatly reduced in just the last month:

100 Play Slant-top in HL Room
7/13: $100CI = 34pts = .34% earned comps
8/19: $1000CI = 85pts = .085% earned comps

3L $2 Progressive Slant-top FP TDB in HL
7/14: $25CI = 16pts = .64% earned comps
8/19: $20CI = 3pts = .15% earned comps

My guess is that all/most of the vp has suffered the same downgrades.

Report from a vpFREE2 User: In March of 2012, the Atlantis casino in Reno reneged on its offer to us to allow us to redeem slot club points for cash to cover our airfare. We had done this a couple of times and after discussing it with host John Weinreich we had things in place for this trip. Using slot club points to cover airfare makes it totally worthwhile for us to get to a place like Reno. When we were checking out and ready to get our cash for points, there was some mumbo-jumbo about whether the points we were redeeming we accumulated on that trip or previously. Anyhow, it was clear, they told us we could redeem points for cash to cover our airfare, and when we were checking out told us we could not do that.

The 100-play NSUD in the "cave tunnel" have been downgraded.

A vpFREE2 user reports some observations concerning Atlantis Players Club: Played on a 3x day single line quarters fpdb/NSUD: 10 machine prog near gift shop paid .03 for $10 coin-in in comps. 5 machine prog near Waterfall Bar paid .06 for $10 coin-in. All bars with NSUD paid .09 for $10 coin-in in comps. Card level point requirement is at least $100 per point. Do not know the exact amount required.

I just played there Monday on the $1 10/7 DB Prog at the bar. On a double points day, I was earning two points per $5 hand. So that tells me that those machines are $5/point normally. This is my favorite VP play anywhere because it is bartop and super-fast to play.

A recent report stated that many of the multigame machines have been downgraded. Also that it now takes $8 to $12 to earn one point on video poker.

If you are playing on a multipoint day do not assume you are getting 2X, 3X or 4X points. Even if you swipe your card you may not get the multipoints. The machine you are playing must say 2X, 3X, or 4X if it doesn't, don't play it.

One of the 100-play machines in the cave was moved to the nonsmoking section in back of the Java Cafe. So they now have 2 machines side-by-side. The one on the left has the Super Double Bonus downgraded. It is NOT full-pay. The Jacks or Better is still full-pay.

I have been told that for a "room-only" comp in the Concierge Tower at Atlantis, including weekends, the minimum DAILY coin-in for VP players, is $10K. A lesser room in the Atrium or Dolphin Towers, would require slightly less c/i.
Pre-comping, before the player's first stay, is not done, except in very rare instances when the player has verifible "High Roller" status at another venue. Players without playing history at the Atlantis are usually told to charge everything to their room, and have a host review their play at check-out time, to determine how much of the charges can be comped.

Here is a direct quote I recieved from a host at Atlantis: "I looked up your account and your average coin in for 2010 is $800 with a Daily Trip Theo of $44. In order to qualify for a complimentary room you need a coin in of $10,000 with a Daily Trip Theo of $200. So, at this time you are at an A8 level to qualify for complimentary rooms you need to be at least an A5 level."

Report from an Atlantis video poker player: Just want to let everyone know that Atlantis is clamping down on winning video poker players. If you win, no free rooms or other offers by mail.

The Atlantis will not divulge how much coin-in equals one point. However, this is relatively easy to determine if a coin-in amount is requested from the club desk or a host, and than compared to the number of earned tier status points, which is available on any machine. After inserting a player's card and pin, the screen will show a Menu Option that allows a player to access that informatiion in addition to comp and FP balances.
As I said in my last Atlantis TR, I was told that for most VP players, even reasonably high rollers, the only comps available on a DISCRETIONARY basis, are free rooms. All other charges are deducted from the player's earned comp account.
The Atlantis has tried to compensate for this perceived "short-fall" in player benefits, by offering 2, 3, and 4X point days each month, in addition to FP and many nice tourneys, dinners and other events.

I would forget the Carson Nugget and Casino Fandango as they won't offer you really any bounceback. However, Gold Dust West in Carson will. For $5k a day: -GSR will give you $100 a month ($50 twice) and 2 nights a week. -JAN will give you $200 a month ($50 fours) and 2 nights a week. -ATL will give you $50 a month and some mid-week nights.
