I live in Cedar Rapids, IA, but I stopped by Harrahs Coucil Bluffs this weekend. Paytables looked pretty poor for the most part, but as I walked by a bank of multigames, I noticed a woman playing one of the machines which was 8/5 BP. I quickly looked at the machine next to it and it was only 7/5. I patiently waited for the woman playing to run out of credits and leave, but at 15 credits remaining she hit a royal flush oddly enough. This gave me an icebreaker to approach her, and I pointed out how much better her machine was than the others. The woman, probably almost 75 years old, replied "Yes, this one pays out extra on the flush and full house on most of the games compared to the other machines. I always play this one." I never expected that she actualy realized it was the only full pay machine in the place! I continued talking to her and she cashed out so that I could look at the other games on the machine. Sure enough, almost every game was full pay, all between 99 and 100%! Unfortunately with Harrah's nearly non-existent cashback, the games are still not actually profitable, but surely better than what is listed in the database on this one machine (machine #1518). Multi-denom from nickels up to dollars. The games included: 9/6 JOB, 8/5BP, 4700/18/7/5 JP, NSUD, 60/8/5 SAB (best game offered at 99.94%), 8/5 SDDB, 9/6 BPDlx, 9/7/5 DB, 9/6 DDB, 9/6 DDB Dlx(4 5-K w/ A pays 80), 9/6 Royal Aces, and 9/5 WHA.

Comps don't expire for 6 months, and are banked indefinitely as long as one point is earned every 6 months. Also, comp points can be used at any Harrah's property. Most Marketing offers aren't deducted from your Reward Credit balance. Hosts can over-ride the new Rewards Program to take care of "good" players. Hosts can't give discretionary comps until all reward credits are used up.

There are three casinos in Council Bluffs; Ameristar, Harrah's and Bluffs Run (owned by Harrah's). There are no Video Poker at Bluffs Run so sctatch that one. The last time we were in Harrah's (several months ago) there were NO full pay VP. This may have changed but I doubt it given Harrah's track record at other casinos.

1 Base Reward Credit is earned for every $5 coin-in on reel slot machines ($10 video poker), and Bonus Reward Credits are awarded based on the type of machine played. On average you get 2 Bonus Credits and 1 Base Credit for every $10 of VP coin-in (probably fewer Bonus Credits for positive VP machines). It takes 3,000 (increased
