I am posting this update on the general board because I know some of you are going to get some great offers from across the country. The Market Square Buffet is being renovated until April. They are feeding the masses by opening up the Blue Agave for an entree/continental breakfast fixed price deal. They are doing a limited dinner buffet in the showroom. So, no show in the showroom except for the Laughternoon comedy act. To my suprise Harrahs actually replaced some of the old IGT and Sigma playable games with playable IGT TITO games. The place is now 90% TITO. You can play in dollars at nice slantop Jacks, DB and NSUD. Three new upright Gamekings actually have .25 Jacks too. Two .50 Jacks also are available. The high-limit area has not been updated yet. Craps can be found at $5. Blackjack, DD and shoes, at $5. I have not stayed here since 1995, so no update on the hotel side. I did spend a couple of late mornings here. I found the cocktail service acceptable at the VP games and tables. The dealers were experienced and fun. I was chasing drawing tickets playing BJ for an in-house BJ tourney promotion.

The top floor corner suites of the family tower are beautiful. Shower plus jacuzzi tub, etc. Cookies and milk every night, great view.

Can't confirm the new .05 fifty plays, yet. MIA-nonsmoking the 9/5/4 SDB are missing, actually the whole 3/5 play games are gone, 1 in nickels and 1 in quarters. They remain in the smoking casino. Down to three (from nine) 8/5 Sigma DJ .25 in the non-smoking section, still against the west windows. The south casino enterance is closed off for the Market Square Buffet construction. My 55 total reward tier points in 2003 has generated mail for 2004. Cheap or comped room offers for Feb/March.

Harrah's Laughlin has 2 50 play .05 9/6 JOB machines in the smoking casino by the doors to the river. These are multigames, but I was shocked to find the JOB were full pay at the nickel level since they eliminated full pay at the quarter level some time last year. The Bonus Rewards earned on these machines are miminal (around half of the base rewards) so comps are hard to generate. But it isn't often that I've come across full pay nickels in any Harrah's property so I thought I was seeing things when I saw the paytable. The 50 play machine in the nonsmoking casino is not full pay it has 8/5 JOB.

This is getting weird. First I start getting postcards. Then a letter from a host, Christine, wanting to put me up and feed me. I have not stayed there since '95. My 55 Total Reward points in 2003 did it. Harrahs finally has replaced the old playable games, with TITO playable games! high-limit area untouched, but does have some old games. Non-smoking - take out the old IGT games and put in new TITO slant-tops. By "The Range" restaurant, (5) MG (some labeled GK, others Jacks) $1 Jacks and (1) $5 Jacks. In northwest corner, two games that were not fired up yet, but could be $1 Jacks and DB. (I think you still have some GK slant-tops in N/S listed too, they moved but you have them) Main/Smoking Casino - I found the .05 Fifty-plays (dark blue glass), true Jacks is the only full pay. There are three of them, between Rosa's Cantina and the east doors. They replaced the .50 Jacks with TITO .50 Jacks, same location. The single game IGT slant-tops are gone with $1 DB. Now there are five MG $1 IGT TITO slant-tops on east wall next to high-limit area, some labeled DDB, DB or GK. In all five are four VP games: DB 10/7, Jacks 9/6, NSUD (new) and short DDB 9/5. I found 3 new Game Kings (red glass) between Rosa's Cantina and the east doors. Short pay but had quarter Jacks 9/6 (must be an oversight). Due to buffet construction, the south doors are closed. The shuttle bus down to the Regency picks up at the northwest doors of the non-smoking casino.

The popular Fresh Market Square Buffet at Harrahs closed on Dec. 14th for renovations and expansion. They are scheduled to re-open on April 15th 2004. Until the renovations are completed, dinner buffet service will be available in the Fiesta Showroom from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at a cost of $10.99 plus tax a person. The all-you-can-eat prime rib and shrimp will continue to be made available for dinner only. For breakfast the Baja Blue is available from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. effective Dec. 24, 2003. The cost of the breakfast buffet is $7.99 plus tax a person. The $1 discount for your slot card still applies. I assume there is no lunch buffet available until the renovations are completed.
