We checked this place out. It is pretty much a VP wasteland, the only exception being a few (four or six) single line $$2 and $5 machines in the high limit room that offer 98.91% deuces wild.

The AVI no longer has any playable video poker. The few remaining BP 8/5 have now been downgrades to 6/5 and some require 20 coins. All of the machines listed on VPfree2 for the AVI no longer exist.

The LD were coin droppers which were removed months ago. There are no LD in the casino now. I will check on the DB again, but I think they are gone. For the most part the Avi has changed all slants to multigame with keno and other games and downgrade the VP. The entire casino floor has been rearranged so that any stated location of machines most likely is incorrect.

The 8 out of 10 machines by the cashier and entrance to the food court - all the games mentioned in the June 2015 comment have had their pay tables severely downgraded. For example the JOB 9/6's are now 7/5's !

Freeplay cannot be used on 'machines' that have a disqualifer sticker on them (seems to be most of the 8/5 BP in the front part of the casino... middle to back is ok, as well as those 9/7 DB slants about 2 rows in from RR / Poker Room or towards Sportsbook, depending on your perspective. Some machines have been moved around - suffice it to say 'scattered' 8/5 BP is probably a better description. The area near the small bar/lounge outside the Cafe also had machines that are now further in to the casino. I think the slants still are .05/.25 BP on them.

All the DDJ are gone

The Avi is offering a two-for-one buffet on Mondays and the wife & I decided to take the 16 mile ride (one way) and give it a try. The buffet is above average but the real surprise came with the recent change in slot cards. After a modest wait in line we made it to a boothling in the slot club. Not only did we get new slot cards but $5 each in free play on those cards. And we each got a "passport" with each "passport" containing two $5 match play coupons for the blackjack table along with a "first card is an Ace" coupon with a $5 bet at the blckjack table. A worthwhile trip and I believe the 2 for 1 buffet deal may also be available on Thursdays and part of Sunday.

The eight GK have 9/6/500 Jacks at the quarter, fifty cent and dollar level (3/1/06). The 3-$1 bartop Jacks still exist. Single line 8/5 Bonus - 9-$1 right by the front door, 6-.25 in a bank of assorted games by the central change booth. 12/8 LD - Single games at quarters scattered about, $1 scattered about as an option in IGT MG/MD. Major expansion continues. The parking garage is completed. The pool complex is moving to the south end.

Getting to the Avi is a real problem unless you have a car. There is now a free shuttle between the Avi the Horizon Center Outlet Mall. The shuttle dparts Avi at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:45 p.m. and 5 p.m. From the mall at 10:30 a.m., 12:15 p.m. 2:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.

The Players Club Information for the Avi Resort, Laughlin, NV appears to be incorrect. On all machines I've played in the last couple months $3.65 Coin-In = 1 Point. Also, the cashback return is 1000 Points = $10 (NOT $1). This works out to about .308%. The casino currently offers 2x slot points and cashback every Thursday.

The .25 JOB are all short pay. They are 9/6, but the Royal is only 2500. I did not think to check other demonations.
