From a user:
I visited the Belle of Baton Rouge on Sunday, May 29, and there definitely are some decent VP options... The better machines are clustered in a couple of areas, on level 2 and level 3 and the choices of denomination and number of lines are much more varied then previously listed...
I also noticed a couple of current promotions that are either a good value or even a small advantage play: * Every Wednesday from 12-6 PM, player's club members age 50+ can get a free meal from Captain's Kitchen. You only have to earn 10 points ($20 coin-in on VP) to qualify. The food is decent. They have hamburgers, hot dogs, po-boys, etc. I had a basket of fish filets, fries, and hush puppies (which was comped after about $1000 coin-in on the aforementioned VP machines). * Thursdays from 12 midnight - 6 AM, all player's club members can receive $10 in free play for earning 200 points ($400 coin-in on VP). * New players, after earning 200 points, get to play a "fishing" game where they will earn anywhere from $5 to $250 free play. (Not surprisingly, I got $5.)

Belle of Baton Rouge: $4 = 1 pt (VP), $2 = 1 pt (slots) - 120 pts = $1 cash (0.21%, VP; 0.42%, slots) - best game = 9/6 Jacks, 0.25 & 1.00, several machines. The Belle of Baton Rouge has only about two or three dozen machines containing video poker. Several include 9/6 Jacks, but I don't recall seeing any other full-pay.

I'm just back from quick visits to both Baton Rouge boats. It's been reported that Penn Gaming (owner of Casino Rouge) will acquire Argosy Gaming, resulting in one company owning both Baton Rouge casinos. At the Argosy, all video poker is on the second level. Best play appears to be 98.9% quarter triple play Deuces. My most recent information is that the slot club pays slightly over 0.4% cashback on all machines, with double points midnight to 10 a.m., Sunday thru Thursday. Aside from the handful of quarter triple plays, I believe all the other VP is multidenom, and the Argosy appears to have established guidelines for percentage paybacks at each denomination. Games at the dollar denomination pay around 97-98%, quarters 95-96%, and so on down to pennies. On the multidenom machines, games drop off the menu as the denomination decreases. For example, Super Aces appears on the dollar menu with a 6/5 schedule, but it disappears below dollars presumably because the manufacturer doesn't offer a pay table within the guidelines for lower denominations. I found one table of double-deck blackjack, which I believe may have been new. The shuffle card was placed at the midpoint, cutting a full deck out of play.
