The Cal Neva Resort, which has been closed for ten years, has been sold to McWhinney, a real estate developer. It's unknown if the property will include a casino.

Lawrence Investments LLC bought the Cal Neva Crystal Bay via bankruptcy proceedings. The deal closed Jan. 10.

The casino at the Cal Neva Resort in Crystal Bay opened earlier this year after being closed since March, 2010.
