From an El Cortez player: "It’s now $10/point coin in on all the 99% plus coin droppers. Was there May 7. Didn’t check the DDB games. Ouch."
May, 2024
Confirmed that all the non-TITO video poker machines (coin droppers) are now $10 coin-in per point even the 9/6 and 9/5 DDB. Recently they were $4 per point.

All the old, coins-only machines have been removed from the area near Subway. Most have been added to the room behind Siegel's 1941.

The machines with video poker below 99% are now $2 per point. Most used to be $1 per point. Most of the machines with the better paytables are still $3 per point. And the redemption rate is still 500 points = $1.
Jul, 2019
Some of the old, non-TITO machines that were removed from the walkway outside the players club have been relocated to the high limit room and the area near Subway.
Jun, 2019
"All $1.00 and .25 machines in walkway near slot club have been removed as of yesterday."
Apr, 2017
The older, coin (non-TITO) machines in front of the cashier and outside the high limit room have all been moved to make way for more table games. They are now in the walkway outside the players club towards the table games. No change to denominations or paytables.

These include the following:

(1) 25c, (1) 50c - 10/7 DB (100.17%)
(2) 25c, (4) $1 - 9/5 SDB (99.69%)
(4) 25c, (2) 50c, (2) $1 - 16/11 DDW (99.62%)
several 25c, (2) 50c, (3) $1 - 18/7/4700 JW (99.29%)
(1) $1 - 8/5 BP (99.17%)

All video poker listed for the El Cortez has been confirmed. No changes were noted.
Jun, 2015
The number of machines that take $3 coin-in per point has greatly increased. The old non-TITO machines with 99% or better games now have stickers saying they take $3 coin-in per point.
Sep, 2014
The Multi-Strikes and MS STP are gone. I confirmed this with a supervisor and searched the casino for them in case they were relocated.
Feb, 2014
El Cortez now has a resort fee effective for all reservations made on or after February 1st, 2014. The signage on the front desk says the $8.95 fee will cover free Wi-Fi, two free bottles of water, free parking, free entry in daily slot tournament, access to wellness facility and a free bottle of wine in the Flame steakhouse (with purchase of two meals).
May, 2013
Added to database several older, non-TITO machines that have probably been there a long time - 50c & $1 99.62% DDW, 25c 99.45% BDW, $1 9/5 SDB and $1 9/6 JoB.

There's at least one 25c 10/7 DB coindropper near the center of the small mostly-VP room (at the end of the corridor that leads from The Flame to the restrooms) that, in spite of the signage, is still giving one point per dollar coin-in (rather than $3/point as the sign says).

Similarly, in spite of the signage, one of the Downtown Deuces machines near Subway and the gift shop (the one in the diagonal bank near the steps) is still giving one point per dollar coin-in (rather than $3/point as the sign says). The other one (near the bathrooms) is indeed giving one point for $3 coin-in.

Hotel 'tower' and 'vintage' rooms (inc. suites) are all non-smoking now. Smoking rooms still available in 'pavillion' rooms.
