The Empress Casino Joliet changed its name to Hollywood Casino Joliet on 12/22/10. Click here for the news release about the name change and opening of a new dining and entertainment pavilion.

Casino reopened June 2009.

No good VP left here. Plenty of 8/6 JOB, 8/6/4 BPdlx, 7/5 BP and Illinois Deuces at all denominations. Lot's of 9/6 DDB (with some 9/5 around) and 9/6 DB.

A fire in the Pavilion has closed the casino down. Customers may be able to redeem coupons at the Hollywood Casino in Aurora. Suggest you phone Hollywood 1st and ask.

Those bartops also had TDB, SDB, and SA; I assume those games were also downgraded. At least two machines in the VP area near the lower-level escalator had FP games as well as the three MS machines in the same area. I am curious as to whether these were all downgraded as well. Their best host (IMO) quit last year and the best executive host (who had been there since it opened 16yrs ago) mysteriously vanished about two months ago. Both had treated me very well over the years and are missed greatly. Empress went from being the very best play in the Midwest to one of the worst.

Single line games are all gone. The better games are all found at the $1 level on the 3 and 5 line games on the right end of the downstairs bar. There are about 6 of these machines and they are not easy to get on.
