I visited Morongo on 1/17/09. It has perhaps the smallest video poker inventory of any casino I have ever visited. You can wander down aisle after aisle of "Tiki Torch" and "Black Panther" without seeing a single VP machine. I was wondering if and when I would finally spot some video poker.   High Limit has 2 $25 single-line machines with 9/6 Jacks and 8/5 Bonus. Those two machines are in a private area surrounded by $25 and $100 slots and security guards greet you (and check you out) as you enter. The six $1 3/5 plays in High Limit all had 8/5 Jacks and 7/5 Bonus. Morongo has no other game variations that I could see. So, if you are looking for MS, STP, Spin Poker or any of the newer games like QQ you will be extremely disappointed. It is basically single-line and the shorted 3/5 plays I mentioned. Nothing else.   I did see one bank of Game Kings near the gift shop with $1 single-line  9/6 Jacks, 8/5 Bonus, 9/6 DDB and 8/5/60 SA. All pays were shorted for lower denominations. I didn't see any Deuces game in the entire limited Morongo VP selection that wasn't 20-12.   The Winners Club pays you a full 1% on slots as cash back. VP pays back at half that rate which is still relatively generous. Be sure to make sure your card is being read, as there were issues the night I played. And make sure your VP machine doesn't have an "exception" sticker on it. If only they had machines where you could easily accumulate substantial coin-in...   Points can be redeemed for food and gifts instead of cash. First redemption must be for 1000 points=$10. After that, guests may cash out in $1 increments. I wasn't  there long enough to speak to a host but there may be discretionary comps available. It makes sense to redeem your points as cash and to do so at the end of every trip. All points are "deactivated" (meaning cancelled) if there is no activity on your card for 7 months.   Any card member gets free valet parking (very helpful on busy weekends) and a vareity of local discounts. Ask for a VIP book good at the nearby Cabazon Outlet Mall and Desert Hills Premium Outlets.

I only saw THREE .25 JB 9/6 machines in a row (somewhere near center of casino??). They were in 'every' other machine, not even next to each other. Lots of shortpay crap.

Passed through Palm Springs area yesterday. I did not check for anything below $1, but I did not find anything playable at Casino Morongo. The CA forum says they have $1/$5 9/6 - it is always possible I missed something, but in this case I doubt it because there were so few VP machines of any kind to begin with.

I was at Casino Morongo on 1/5/05 to see the New casino out there (now in the hotel building) and it's a nice place. They still have the $0.25, $1 and $5 9/6 JB and have $0.25 Pot O' Gold Progressive Banks with 6/5 JB.
