From a Pechanga video poker player: "Slot club has changed. The earned comp account has been eliminated. The entire system has changed, at least for video poker. Everything appears to be based on machine theo. On one machine I was playing, tier credits were running about one for $5.30 played. Other machines required different amounts. The slot club material states earned club dollars are now for free play or comps. The earning rate sounds similar to Boyd wording in that it depends on machine return and time played etc. Material at booth indicates rate also depends on card level. I noticed as I played, all on same machine, rate tended to vary over time from as low as 0.067% to as high as 0.088% by the end of the day."

Report from a Pechanga video poker player: Pechanga has 3 scattered banks of Ultimate X. One of them offers 8/6 Bonus Deluxe which has the best return of the options. There is also 8/6 Jacks and 7/5 Bonus, both considered "full-pay" for Ultimate X. I saw these choices at both 50c (3/5/10 play) and $1 level (3/5 play). If you plan to play heavily, choose the 50c 10 play instead of the $1 5 play. That's because even though your total bet and the base game return are the same Ultimate X awards higher multipliers with more hands played.

A side note: these machines are almost occupied during most of the day. Late night through noon play will give you a shot.

Report from a Pechanga video poker player: Pechanga has added 3 $1 SuperStar machines next to the circular bar in High Limit. They feature single-line games which are normally seen as 3 or more lines (ex: STP, Double STP, Dreamcard, etc). However, the best paytables I saw were only on Ultimate X: 8/6 Jacks and 8/6 Bonus Deluxe, which return roughly 99.4%. That's below the full-pay regular 9/6 Jacks and Bonus Deluxe on the bartops. But it does give you the potential of multipliers if that "floats your boat".

To find a host you need to go into the fancy card-playing room which is adjacent to HIGH LIMIT. Inside there is a room on the east side with 2 desks opposite one another where hosts can and do issue discretionary comps called "e-comps" which require no paperwork, just present players card and ID at the restaurant to receive comp value with no earned points deducted.

The 10 uprights near the hi-limilt room have been changed for over a year. All of the full pay games are gone with the exception of 9-6 Jacks or Better. They have integrated this bank into their overall network of VP games spread throughout the casino. So there are a lot of 9-6 JOB games at 25c and up. But the full pay 9-6 BDLX, 9-6 DDB, 8-5 Bonus, and 8-5 $Bonus Aces$ are gone. There are a lot of other weird games like Aces & Deuces and White Hot Aces, but the paytables are lousy.
