We were somewhat apprehensive after reading reviews complaining about smoke odor. Not only did we not notice smoke but the rooms were beautiful. My brother and I obtained Hero player cards upon our arrival which gained us discounts for everything and a free night. Casino was not too crowded (even on Sunday), not smoky and relatively subdued compared to many that are overly loud. Especially enjoyed the Water Lilly lounge with 99%+ bartops and their appetizer/sandwich type menu. We received free nights and plan on making the 5 hour drive from the NW Chicago burbs again soon. The 'Eagle' has instantly become our favorite midwest casino! markglim

Brand new, large with very high ceilings and good ventilation to make the second-hand smoke somewhat bearable. Couldn't find any VP higher than 6/5. And yet Station casinos in Vegas are highly rated for their VP payouts. This place is a rip-off for VP! Management should be ashamed! You're an idiot if you go here to play VP. However the food in the food court is good. Get the side salad at the Barbeque place. They assemble and toss it right in front of you with only the ingredients you want. I just got back from Firekeepers Casino and I had a terrible time, on the video poker machines even the 1's I played that were on here that said that they had good payback, I didnt hit 1 4 of a kind, lost 300 bucks grghh. I guess I gotta stop going my dad says, but there are not enough low limit video poker machines, gun lake I'm coming back, the lowest bet you can make is 1dollar or 1.25 on a quarter machine, goes quick if your not hitting and I didnt hit anything, my buddy on the other hand hit 2 4 of a kinds back to back, so I'm glad he did better than me. I like going and playing but terrible for low limit video poker. Might as well stay home!! The only thing they have better than Gun Lake is Comps!! They Comp way better!! steveo
